Pavestones unlike concrete are, easy to repair, if a paver cracks simply remove and replace a portion of the affected area. This is far less expensive than replacing an entire slab of concrete and far more attractive than concrete patches.
Pavers can be sealed, enhancing their look and durability, protecting them from stains. Regularly cleaned and sealed pavers can also reduce the effect of foot and tire traffic.
Sealed pavers prevent dirt from lodging in the surface and damaging their appearance.
Why seal your new or existing pavers.
Why seal pavers?
Sealing protect pavers, It creates an invisible barrier on top of the pavers that repels water, oil and anything else you might accidentally drop on your pavers. Sealing also preserves the color. Sealing helps prevent ants and weeds, but is not guaranteed to eliminate them.
Application Process
it’s usually about 2 days to complete, weather permitting. The first day, the pavers will be power wash and resand, (After this first day the sprinklers should be turn off). On the 2nd day the sealer is applied. Pavers must be kept dry 24 hours before and after sealer applications. One or two coats are applied depending on the need. We suggest staying off pavers for 24 hours after sealer application, no driving or walking on pavers.
Water Base sealer vs. Oil Base sealer
When a sealer is applied, it darkens the original colors. Sometimes it might get pavers to really shine, but it depends on your pavers' color. Darker colors tend to have a more noticeable sheen then lighter ones. An oil base sealer will make the pavers appear wet and have more shine than a water base sealer.
How often should you seal your pavers?
Sealer should last between two to three years depending on the care given to the area and the quality of the pavers. The condition of the pavers plays a role in their longevity.
